Assistant Program Director- Full Time

Responsibilities of the Assistant Program Director at Curry House- Curry House is a 12 bed group home serving clients with a mental illness located in Schenectady, NY. The focus is assisting the clients on transitioning to the next level of care.

Specific duties included:
• Assisting the Program Director with all aspects of the program operation including some task oriented items like chart checks, fire drill checks, staff scheduling, etc.;
• Provide staff supervision and guidance including a rotating telephone on-call;
• Provide services to the clients including: supportive counseling, teaching of daily living skills, crisis prevention and intervention skills, recreational activities, etc.
• Work with doctor’s offices for medication refills and order refills through the pharmacy. Ensure all medication is available and organized for medication supervision with the clients;
• Maintaining a healthy and clean environment for our clients to become independent which includes some cleaning; and
• Driving the agency vehicle to transport clients as needed.

Skills/Qualifications for the Assistant Program Director include:
• BA/BS in human services and 1-year experience in human services, or an Associate’s degree in human services with 3 years’ experience, or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
• Experience working with the mentally ill population.
• Residential experience required.
• Supervisor experience preferred.
• Valid and insurable driver's licenses as agency vehicles are available for business use.

Desired Experience of the Assistant Program Director in addition to the required qualifications above:

• Experience or education in crisis intervention and prevention preferred.
• Both the ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• The ability to be organized and have good time management skills.

Salary and Schedule of the Assistant Program Director
• 40 hours per week.
• $15.08/hour: $31,366/annual equivalent.
