TDY Medical Staffing, Inc. is currently looking for well qualified General Clerk II for contract work in  SW DC Area. MUST have experience working with Medicare electronic case management system and E-Filing system.



Working hours will take place Monday through Friday for a total not to exceed 8 hours per day, or 40 hours per week. Daily working hours may be 8 hours starting between 7am and 9:30am with a 30 minute lunch.

Candidate must have experience utilizing Medicare electronic case management system and E-Filing system to screen cases for proper jurisdiction, completeness, and timeliness, and maintain case management and E-Filing systems to ensure proper physical and electronic control of cases. Reviews case files returned to the Medicare Appeals Council to ensure correspondence

received is uploaded to the corresponding Docket number, maintains a docket storage area and releases cases

to other components in accordance with established accession schedules. Receives and distributes incoming

mail. Determines whether the appeal has been timely filed. Associates post-adjudicative correspondence to

case for judicial review. Receives case files and reads the relevant materials to determine procedural adequacy

of the appeal. Prepares action documents for mailing. Makes necessary copies and scans final action

documents to Medicare Electronic Case Management System (MODACTS) and E-Filing System. The

incumbent must also demonstrate a general understanding of budget to support the Budget Officer in

executing obligations, preparing requisitions and statements of work for court reporters on hearings.

 

Skills Required :

Must have no less than a high school diploma

At least TWO years of experience

STRONG computer skills are required and must show on resume

Experience in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Pro



As a General Clerk you will docket new appeals in the MODACTS automated case tracking system

and/or E-Filing system; contact HHS contractors to obtain claim files and electronic files from secure server

and prepare Medicare Appeals Folders. Upload and scan documents onto the Electronic case tracking system.

Prepare acknowledgement letters and filing cases in Docket area. Prepare and submit weekly administrative

reports to Supervisor. As a Paralegal Specialist you will draft legal documents including acknowledgement

letters, orders, and rulings, perform legal research and secondary reviews of decisions and rulings, preparing

administrative court reports for certification to U.S. Federal Court or U.S. District Court, coordination and

scheduling of telephonic ALJ hearings, performing E-Filing and electronic case management systems,

processing and mailing ALJ/AAJ decisions, prompt, courteous and professional service to ALJs, AAJs,

management and DAB colleagues and parties to the case, other projects as assigned.



Must possess the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with employees at varying grade levels; and to

provide optimal customer service; to both internal and external customers.

c. Operates Computerized Programs. Utilizes computerized programs and databases in order to enter, modify

and retrieve sensitive information and various data into or from electronic medical records, scheduling

systems, and/or reporting formats. Utilizes such programs and databases to make appointments in a clinical

setting. Maintains patient confidentiality with written and verbal information, per HIPAA requirements.

d. Applies Knowledge of Medical Terminology. In the particular clinical service area supported, demonstrates

basic knowledge of the associated medical terminology sufficient to be able to communicate effectively with

both professional and non‐professional employees in a variety of occupations and at various levels of

responsibility.

e. Works Independently. Works in a proficient and self‐directed manner in order to accomplish a wide variety

of tasks, to include setting priorities and coordinating work. Employee will ensure productivity is maintained

at the established level.

f. Comprehensive knowledge of various services available at the facility. Due to the wide variety and complexity

of the operations, must have knowledge of the laws and regulations pertaining to eligibility and

entitlement for benefits.

g. Must be able to work under considerable pressure and plan workload without halting or interrupting the

operation as a whole by showing initiative in completing priority tasks.

h. Must have the ability to work rapidly with a high degree of accuracy.

i. Must be dependable and use good judgment and effectively and properly analyze and evaluate all situations

j. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationship with patients, relatives, and hospital staff.

k. Good communications skills are essential. Must exhibit high skills in oral communication techniques.

Particular emphasis is placed on interviewing which is a main responsibility of this position. Must be able

to relate and coordinate with individuals of all socioeconomic and educational levels.

l. The skill of a qualified typist is required, as data entry is a main responsibility of this position.

m. Skill in using a calculator to accurately compute mathematical equations for income assessments.

n. Accuracy of data inputting.

o. Knowledge of the operation of several types of office equipment and software/databases relative to data

extraction and inputting.

p. Knowledge of word processing and database packages is necessary.

q. Basic knowledge of the functionality of the computerized patient record.
