In addition, this group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.


The Wholesale Group Operational Risk Office (WGORO) is part of the Corporate Risk team and provides an objective view of the state of Operational Risk across Wholesale Banking. In addition, WGORO supports and ensures the effective and efficient execution of strong risk management programs in every Wholesale line of business. Working closely with the Wholesale lines of business risk professionals and throughout Wells Fargo, WGORO team members ensure that Wholesale lines of business manage risk with respect to our customers, our company, and our communities.


Within WGORO, an exciting opportunity exists on the Payments Risk Management Program team for an Operational Risk Consultant 4 (ORC 4). As a member of the Wholesale Payments Risk Management Program team, the ORC 4 will be responsible for:


  • Overseeing routines required by the Payments Risk Management Policy.


  • Providing credible challenge and recommendations on appropriate payments risk management activities.


  • Designing, implementing, and executing processes to assist the Wholesale Banking businesses comply with the Payment Risk Management Policy.


  • Establishing collaborative relationships with key partners across the enterprise, ensuring there is ongoing alignment with enterprise, audit, and regulatory requirements.


  • Consulting with Wholesale Banking businesses on payments-related matters and acting as the subject matter expert on payment program requirements.


  • Identifying processes with payments risk exposure and assisting with the design, implementation, and execution of mitigation strategies to strengthen processes to reduce risks.

The immediate focus of this role will be to:


  • Design dashboards from data collected from cross-functional risk programs to identify emerging payments-related risks and monitor adherence to the Payments Risk Management Program requirements.


  • Document the dashboard business requirements to be centrally developed and stored for use by the Program Coordinators.


  • Coordinate the development, execution, and implementation of the dashboards from a central location, accomplished by the engagement of applicable business partners.


  • Provide reporting on payments risk, oversight activities, and metrics to Program Coordinators and risk managers.

Required Qualifications:


  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both
