MVM, Inc. is looking for a highly experienced Program Director to run a shelter for minors (17 and under) and all surrounding operations for the their care and transport. The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader and will have experience in managing shelter staff of different disciplines.The Program Director will overlook all aspects of the shelter including the financial aspects and services. The Program Director will also be the primary liaison between MVM, Inc. and the client.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the daily operation of the shelter;

  • Experience working with ORR Shelter Care at a Senior level.

  • Primary Liaison with the Government Client;

  • Maintain liaison relationship with agency departments and officials.

  • Ensure contract compliance by following regulatory standards.

  • Responsible for ensuring the operational plans for each unit in the program are implemented in accordance with the contract.

  • Plan the delivery of the overall program and its activities in accordance with the mission of the Client;

  • Coordinate both programmatic and financial elements of the services provided;

  • Responsible for all reporting requirements of the Statement of Work (SOW);

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all shelter and program operations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or an equivalent degree in education, Psychology, Sociology or other relevant Behavioral Science;

  • OR a Bachelor’s degree in one of the aforementioned sciences, plus five (5) years of experience as the director of a residential child care program, residential youth program, or similar program for children and adolescents; OR

  • Five (5) years of progressive project management experience on projects demonstrating advanced levels of financial and managerial responsibilities;

  • Must be able to travel regularly for meetings and visits to other sites.

  • Bi-Lingual in English and Spanish

  • Skills in leadership, organization, staff motivation and collaboration, problem solving , conflict resolution, computers/technology, and oral and written communication.

  • A sensitivity and responsiveness to working with undocumented children.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience directing a large residential facility/shelter with 100+ beds preferred;

  • Experience working with children under the age of 17 preferred;

  • Experience working with Government Clients, preferably ORR, FEMA, HHS, and/or DHS.

  • Successfully passing a background investigation

Standing/Walking/Mobility: Must have mobility to attend meeting with other employees.

Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: 5% - 25% of the time.

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: 5% - 25% of the time.

Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to write, type, and use a telephone system 75% - 100% of the time.

Physical Dimensions: Medium-duty work. Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects.
