The Senior Information Systems Manager responsibilities include:


  • Manage and develop application support team members, creating a culture of accountability, customer-focus, and continuous improvement


  • Provide leadership to the application support team, leading collaboration, common practices, sharing of knowledge and cross training


  • Work with a global team to provide application support that includes technical support, analyze and resolve software failures, troubleshoot technical problems, etc.


  • Serve as an escalation point for applications support and communicates effectively with internal as well as external stakeholders


  • Review technology decisions and asses risk, impact and benefit to the supported applications


  • Assist with problem solving on various support tickets as needed


  • Interface with IT application owners and business owners to prioritize improvement efforts


  • Work with IT Infrastructure teams on problem solving and capacity planning


  • Ensure project work is managed within the appropriate process, controls and standards.


  • Manage the application software promotion process


  • Ensure appropriate tools and processes are in place for the support of custom developed applications as well as third party vendor applications


  • Manage resource workloads and priorities for application support team members


  • Meet security and control requirements for SOX applications including: IT Policy Manual compliance, systems audit completion and evidence gathering, interface documentation, audit participation, and audit issues resolution


  • Engage in complex problem troubleshooting of applications


  • Ensure Production Support on-call is planned and effective and resolution is reached on incidents within the defined service level agreement


  • Define, track, and deliver on application performance and support indicators (KPIs) and metrics


  • Ensure application documentation and knowledge base, are maintained and updated timely


  • Strive to constantly improve application performance and availability

Provides leadership for those involved in the development, design and optimization of one or more information technology and systems functions supporting company business processes and technical information systems platforms. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analysis, selection and modification of enterprise systems, application software, installation of network hardware/software and database management, preparation of budgets, schedules and feasibility studies. Provides direction for the effort required to protect the company’s data, tools and information systems. May be involved in planning and coordinating all aspects of projects specific to their respective area of assignment. Utilizes subject matter knowledge of user group for practical application of system


characteristics. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.


Basic Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of information systems/information technology experience


  • At least 4 years of management experience

OR


  • Master’s degree and at least 8 years of information systems/information technology experience


  • At least 4 years of management experience

OR


  • At least 12 years of information systems/information technology experience


  • At least 4 years of management experience


  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills:


  • Bachelor’s degree (computer science or related perferred)


  • Minimum 6 years of web application development/support (J2EE or .Net) experience


  • Minimum 4 years of management experience


  • Experience with Oracle, Unix/Linux, DB2, and SQL, PL/SQL


  • Demonstrated successes in managing multiple, concurrent high priority responsibilities in a time-pressured environment


  • Self-motivated, team player, action-and-results oriented with excellent attention to critical details.


  • Ability to multitask by working with multiple initiatives


  • Able to interact with IT and business customers to clarify or define business needs/issues


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


  • Knowledge of infrastructure components (database, application, web server etc.)


  • Experience in a diverse global team environment


  • Strong leadership, project management skills, time management, and problem-solving skills.


  • Experience of integrating with third party web applications
