Title:Research Program Manager

Duties:


• General Program Management


o Understands how a research initiative fits into larger strategy and is on point for ensuring issues are addressed and aligned with other initiatives


o Facilitates relationships between teams, moves initiatives forward, finds resources, raises concerns to appropriate owners early and resolves open issues that prevent progress


o Hold the line when schedule or progress is in jeopardy while maintaining respectful relationships


o Coordinates resources across multiple international research initiatives and teams


o Tracks activities on research programs and establishes a clear path and ownership of next steps


o Predicts roadblocks and obstacles and establishes meetings or integration points between teams


o Prioritize competing needs with good reasoning and creative solutions


o Ensures awareness of key milestone dates and communicates issues related to staying on schedule across initiatives


o Contributes to program processes and tools, updating databases and initiating improvements where needed


• Manage Onboarding Program for UX Research


o Works both independently and together with a committee to run our Design and UX Research Onboarding program for new hires


o Provides support and resources during and after onboarding timeline to ensure a positive and successful orientation experience.


o Together with Lead, partners to run Intern Onboarding Program for Summer UX Interns


• Learning and Development


o Works closely with Lead to execute and build upon UX Research Continued Education learning and development opportunities for Researchers.


o Partners with Lead and other stakeholders to launch Continued Education Program in remote offices.


Skills: Research Program Managers implement global operational systems, connect teams and knowledge, and problem solve operational hurdles to enable Researchers to do their most impactful work. In this role, you will ensure that efforts are planned, executed and shared efficiently and seamlessly. You''ll work closely with Research leads to make sure all planning related to our work is completed, the right collaborations are happening, and highest quality work is being shared.


The ideal candidate is able to facilitate our teams'' best work by managing short- and long-term planning, anticipating project issues and resolving them, connecting resources to research needs, and removing barriers to doing great work. The Research Program Manager is an expert in problem solving and multitasking while building long-term relationships with the team. You''ll utilize a full range of organizational and interpersonal skills that help our talented teams operate at their highest and most effective level.


This role requires broad knowledge of, research, and project management. Excellent communication skills, ability to manage complex logistics, and a highly organized approach are mandatory. This is a full-time contract position based in our Menlo Park office.


Education:


• 5+ years of relevant or related Program or Project Management experience


• BA/BS degree


• Excellent communication and organization skills, with the ability to multi-task and juggle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment


• General knowledge of research and/or UX design is preferred


• Track record of operating independently, demonstrating creativity, being detail-oriented, and delivering results in a highly organized manner
