Job Summary:


Maintains engineering rapid prototype facilities and produces parts and assemblies using all rapid prototype shop equipment.


Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:


• Works closely with mechanical engineers & designers to fabricate physical parts from 3D and 2D CAD designs, demonstrates ability to understand 2D drawings


• Operates CNC & manual mills


• Operates 2D laser cutter/etcher


• Operates 3D printers


• Operates handsaw, drill press, sanders, and hand tools independently


• Conceives and fabricates unique parts and assemblies to help solve engineering problems


• Designs and fabricates engineering and manufacturing test fixtures


• Maintains and repairs shop equipment


• Maintains shop raw materials and consumables supplies


• Maintains shop organization and cleanliness


• Trains coworkers on proper use and safety of shop equipment


• Ensures shop equipment is being utilized in a safe manner by trained operations


• Some travel may be required


Minimum Job Requirements


5 years experience in mechanical parts fabrication and assembly. Good communication skills. Ability to follow written and verbal directions, prioritize work, complete multiple tasks, work under deadlines, concentrate and apply technical skills. Ability to handle and coordinate a high volume product line. Requires ability to lift up to 87 pounds. Experience using Solidworks to create models and drawing is a plus.
