TECHNICAL SERVICES, QUALITY & FOOD SAFETY MANAGER:


This position is responsible for maintaining various JBS Pork Division quality programs, specifications, food safety SOP’s, quality SOP’s, USDA labeling, NICE label database, and using regulatory knowledge to ensure product meets customer and USDA requirements.


REQUIREMENTS:


  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, Meat Science, Food Science or other food related field minimum requirement.


  • Experience: 5 years of food/meat industry experience.


  • Demonstrate experience in management of teams.


  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office applications, Power Point, Excel and Word.


  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills.


  • Understanding of USDA regulations.


  • Understanding of animal production and meat plant operations.


  • Strong organizational and accuracy skills.


  • Ability to execute quality system programs & audits.

JOB TASK DUTIES:


  • Manage the ABF program from farm to finished meat products.


  • Manage the Process Verified Program from farm to finished meat products.


  • Manage and oversee all related program audits.


  • Work with the USDA AMS on special marketing programs.


  • Collaborate with all business segments, customers, suppliers and the USDA.


  • Maintain Bacon specifications in the SAP PLM database.


  • Assist with maintaining Fresh Pork specifications in the SAP PLM database.


  • Manage the labeling approval process & learn USDA requirements. Submit labels for USDA approval.


  • Assist with maintaining the NICE label system.


  • Assist with writing various SOP’s.


  • Assist with HACCP & Sanitation requirements at the plants.


  • Assist with completing customer GFSI audit requests, supplier quality/food safety questionnaires and supplying BRC and other 3 rd party audit results.


  • May include working with all plants on the SIP & HIMP start up.

TRAVEL:


  • 30% TO 40% travel to work with livestock producers, feed mills, processing plants, Greeley corporate office and customers.
