Financial Analyst IV, Capital Markets

This is an opportunity for a hard-working and collaborative individual to work as part of the FCM Finance Team to support the various business lines of which Capital Markets is comprised. The Financial Analyst IV, along with a small team of fellow senior analysts, will provide high-quality analysis and thoughtful input to the various business functions and leaders he or she supports. This is a unique opportunity for an individual to develop subject matter knowledge across multiple product areas of Capital Markets, and to understand how Capital Markets plays a vital role in supporting other business lines at Fidelity.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics combined with a minimum of 5 years’ work experience in a finance capacity

  • Experience in financial services industry is highly desired

  • Strategic thinker who can take an end-to-end view of an issue and develop multiple solutions

  • Advanced experience with various software applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Business Objects) and demonstrated aptitude for building financial models for complex processes

The Purpose of Your Role

  • Lead the Finance support for Equities, working closely with the trading desk to follow market trends and volatility to be able to report on client & product revenue and volumes on a daily/monthly basis.

  • Work with FCM’s Fidelity Centralized Electronic Trading (“FCET”) team to understand product development for the various tech applications used by the trading desk and its clients.

  • Work closely with the Order Flow Management team to develop a deep understanding of the maker-taker model as it relates to understanding order routing decisions to our various execution destinations.

  • Assist in the month-end processes for the Equity trading desk to properly allocate revenue and expense across FCM as well as to our various channel partners.

  • Work closely with FCM project managers and the Equity Middle Office group to provide finance support to Equity’s growing Single Ticket Clearing offering.

  • Support FCM’s product and client profitability model (i.e. FCAP) by ensuring the business groups you support are properly reflected in the model from an expense attribution standpoint.

  • Ability to use both quantitative and qualitative methods for evaluating business performance

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven organization with a desire to drive projects to completion

The Value You Deliver

This role will report to the Senior Director of Finance whose team is responsible for supporting Equity, Fixed Income, FOREX, Equity Origination, and FCET. The successful individual will be able to learn the business quickly, and bring a fresh perspective to measuring business performance and solving issues. More specifically, the individual will provide support and guidance to FCM’s Equity desk in the form of daily and monthly reporting, annual and multi-year planning, and business performance measurement via the development and deployment of key performance metrics. Additionally, this person will provide financial insights and business knowledge to aid the desk in making strategic investment decisions as well as pricing arrangements on new and existing clients as well as on product offerings.
