Job Summary


This position will be centered around integrated systems research and development, including controls, mechanical and electrical systems, automated detection and diagnostics for research systems, building management systems and interfaces, advances in system operation and maintenance, retro-commissioning of research systems, advanced controller development, systems simulation, balance of plant simulation, and system integration.


Under supervision, conduct the design, fabrication, installation, operation, maintenance, and connection of research components to facilities research systems. Track research equipment, tooling, and other equipment regarding location, status, calibration, etc. Conduct monitoring of research and other systems, perform maintenance and repair of systems when required.


Substantial acquaintance with and understanding of general aspects of the job with a broad understanding of the detailed aspects of the job.


Intermediate to advanced skills in research techniques and practices. Good written, verbal, team, interpersonal and communication skills.


Demonstrates leadership in one or more areas of team, task, or project lead responsibilities. Very good interpersonal and communication skills.


Good understanding of building and power systems, controls, thermal and ventilation systems, qualified electrical worker. Experience in component and system design and fabrication.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills


High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Or, relevant Associate's Degree or certification program of comparable scope and 2 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Substantial acquaintance with and understanding of general aspects of the job with a broad understanding of the detailed aspects of the job. Intermediate to advanced skills in research techniques and practices. Good written, verbal, team, interpersonal and communication skills.
