Job Description

Inside Sales Job Description:


This position will develop incremental sales across all of the Swisher product portfolio through direct phone contact with retailers. Featured items that are sold to retailers will then be delivered to their servicing wholesale distributor for delivery. The retailers that are targeted will vary by project, geography and necessary prioritization of the organization, but will primarily consist of locations that our Swisher TM’s do not include in their territory coverage. Additionally, there will be specific phone call coverage on prioritized chain store retailers where the call objective will include both inventory management and product selling objectives. Work projects will be very specific in scope, with identified stores, product offering with timeframe, and servicing distributor. All orders gathered will be input into mpower system for notes, database updates and ship list extraction upon completion. All projects when completed, will be coordinated with field sales personnel for delivery and final execution. This position will work under general supervision, particularly upon project start, then work independently through project store list.


Key Competencies:


  • Selling - Knowledge of Swisher products being offered, with basic selling message including cost, profit and margin. Ability to be persuasive and concise in order to reach decision maker, and communicate purpose of call.


  • Sales Function -Knowledge of the Swisher supply chain, its major responsibilities, accountabilities and the organization of the Swisher ZRT model.


  • Sales Tasks & Activities – Ability to understand the project objectives, target list of retailers and incorporate the techniques and tools to sell the prioritized product offering.


  • Knowledge of Product Line – Ability to quickly grasp the basic product facts, incorporated into a persuasive selling message that will lead to retailer orders.


  • Knowledge of Customers – Ability to work with existing customer profile as it exists in mpower, update any and all contact details including call notes, for future call backs to store.

Operational:


  • Execute call coverage with a targeted group of retailers based on pre-defined project objectives.


  • Develop persuasive selling proposition for targeted retailers in order to close sale.


  • Effectively plan, organize and execute call coverage to include database updates, call notes and processing of retailer orders with appropriate servicing wholesale distributor.


  • Coordinate project sales results with appropriate Swisher field sales personnel.


  • Communicate project results on an on-going basis with supervisor, while making recommendations on how to enhance retailer participation.

Job Requirements


Position Requirements:


  • High School diploma, Associate's degree preferred


  • Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills, oral and written.


  • Must have experience and knowledge of Swisher supply chain.


  • Prior experience in a sales environment similar to Swisher supply chain.


  • Must possess above average technical skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and have worked with a sales reporting system like mpower.
