Position Summary:

Working with individual departments, analyze, evaluate, design, develop and implement changes to information systems to increase effectiveness of operations. Major areas of responsibility include the ISL Library, WIMS, various Access Data Bases needed to support operations, and PC/Hardware where incumbent is responsible for full life cycle management of changes, upgrades, and system modifications.

This is a 1st shift position. Days are Monday - Friday. Hours are 7:30am - 4:30pm.

Major Responsibilities:

-Troubleshoot system problems, analyze requests, design and implement applications based on user, customer, or business needs. Compile cost analysis and justification of proposed equipment expenditures.

-Will provide a leadership role on very large projects.

-Demonstrate considerable creativity in the resolution of user problems and in the completion of system assignments.

-Development of Testing scripts and auditing procedures for systems.

-Recommend changes and enhancements to systems.

-Train System users and manage all documentations

-Ensure security within systems are maintained.

-Monitor capacity of systems and make recommendation when changes are needed.

-Coordinate with customer technical support group for programming needs.

-Responsibility for web interfaces

-Responsibility for network design and interface protocols, connectivity to other systems and applications.

-Development/maintenance of database strategies.

-Capacity testing

-Control of programming/coding

-Resolve data conflicts and usage decisions

-Record applications upgrades to all applications created for references.

-Support Assistant Supervisor with warehouse shipping & receiving functions.

-Comply with Internal Control, ISO-9000, G.Q.S. (Global Quality System), etc.

  • Process confidential system access information.

-Troubleshoot problems related to printers, keyboard, terminals, PC’s, and telephones, Scanners, Wims

-Train personnel to use current computer systems.

-Update divisional and local systems, databases (ei. UAW, Speedy Memo, Hold)

-Maintain equipment and software inventory logs.

-Comply with company, client, and governmental policies and regulations.

-Continue to enhance knowledge of job related operations.

-Perform other duties as needed.


-College degree in related field desired or equivalent experience required.

-3 to 5 years related experience required.

-Programming experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of in-house computer systems (hardware/software) preferred to include commercial software (MS-Word, Excel, Access, Solid edge, Auto Cad, Fast Look, Visual Basic etc.).

-Must have the ability to logically organize manual processes into detailed systematic steps required.

-Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

-Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
