Responsibilities ·Responsible for the support of the Compute and Mainframe Services infrastructure. The service consists of the management of Mainframe, Production control and UNIX and Wintel Virtualization environments.·The responsibilities include support oversight of the Compute Services infrastructure and implementation of new technologies, providing detailed analysis of ROI on new tools, developing implementation plans, and executing multi-year large scale product implementations. ·The responsibility includes interfacing with the candidate’s peers in operations, architect teams, participating in design session, articulate the requirements, and defining the methods of requesting work from operations in a consistent manner and overseeing the delivery of projects from request for service - RFS to build. ·Additional responsibilities include performing day to day BAU operations and helping to develop architecture for the Mainframe and compute environments, performing POC's on new technologies and coordinating the review of relevant technologies with the enterprise architecture team.·Additional responsibilities include coordinating both Proactive and Reactive project / service requests from other TS groups and back office Business Lines with Infrastructure and Engineering resources to meet SLA’s and project expectations/milestones.·The role will report directly to the service owner of Hosting and the qualifying candidate will be responsible working with the service owner for managing stability, costs, consumption, service levels, roadmaps and project delivery.·Manage Operational Risk in regards to Infrastructure; developing and implementing mitigating controls and/or corrective measures.·Other activities include guidance and professional development of Infrastructure and Engineering resources to increase team skill sets and expand the base skill set and scope of expertise needed to support both current and future Infrastructure needs.·Developing and implementing strategies for the control and sharing of company Mainframe and Compute resources and services.·Reviewing and refining requirements for service providers to design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and archiving; and to ensure effective protection and integrity of data center/storage appliances and assets.·Defining business requirements for service providers to plan, schedule, initiate, and administer backups and restores.·Defining requirements for service providers to allocate storage to end-users and development teams based on established regional/departmental requirements.·Defining, communicating, and enforcing data storage retention policies.·Reviewing and jointly refining requirements for service providers to develop, implement, and maintain change control, incident response, and testing processes for modifications to the data center environment.·Ensuring that data center management and information storage measures and equipment adhere to all applicable laws and regulations for the health care industry.·Remaining informed on laws, trends and issues, including current and emerging technologies and best practices; advising, counseling, and educating executive and management teams on their relative importance.·Governance and oversight related to managed service provider.


Required Qualifications · 10+ years relevant Technology services experience at a Fortune 500 organization· 3+ prior Technology consulting experience· Ability to work under pressure with efficiency and accuracy· Ability to plan and prioritize workload · High-level understanding and application of financial and management accounting principles within purchasing · Strong negotiation skills applied in complex negotiations within the Purchasing cycle Preferred Qualifications · Demonstrated extensive experience with server-client computing and relational database environments· Demonstrated hands-on technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting data center/storage environments · Demonstrated experience in managing the change control process in distributed data center environments· Demonstrated working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting large server banks· Experience in project management, developing and submitting data center audits and compliance reports to governing bodies, legal entities and/or external authorities· Knowledge of applicable data retention practices and laws· Strong technical documentation skills and able to conduct research into data center/storage issues, standards, and productsEducation Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or information systems field required.
