Every talented Crewmember in our Restaurant Support Office (RSO) is integral to our success and a value to our rapidly growing company.

The focus of the Research and Development Department, is to craft, commercialize and distribute high quality ingredients, packaging and recipe processes to the Restaurants. The R&D Assistant Manager of Project Management will be responsible for the organization, maintenance and communication of product and packaging standards, systems and active projects.

The role requires a high degree of collaboration with cross-functional members in Restaurant Excellence, Marketing and Supply Chain, to be knowledgeable on all company initiatives and projects related to the menu (food and paper).This position requires a high degree of detail orientation and organizational skills and will be tasked with managing the workflow of projects; coordinating project movement, status updates and next steps to ensure all projects are accurate, effective, and on schedule.

Primary Responsibility

  • Works with VP of R&D to prioritize projects and develop detailed scopes based on project needs

  • Manage R&D Roadmap and synchronizing it with the Company Calendar

  • Work with project leads to establish project plans and timelines

  • Utilizes Restaurant system information for inclusion in project plans, phase management and implications

  • Provides project management oversight, ensures projects are organized with an aligned project plan

  • Coordinate with cross functional stakeholders through all R&D phases; design through deployment

  • Attend departmental and project meetings to be able to communicate effectively and timely with questions related to project progress.

  • Coordinate agenda, action items and follow up notes for weekly steering and project meetings

  • Ensure project execution members have the most up to date project information and associated materials by updating the file system on Teams (SharePoint) and project file folders on a regular basis

  • Develop weekly reports to track project progress, performance and related content

  • Assembles reports for the monthly R&D Business Strategy meeting

  • Ensure R&D department programs are executed and completed at the appropriate intervals; uses all company channels and mediums of communication effectively and efficiently

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Looks for continuous improvement opportunities for developing methods and procedures for compiling and analyzing data for reports and special projects

  • Maintain food and paper comparison list for US and International

  • Restaurant process proficient with foresight into the impact of ingredient or process changes

  • Knowledgeable of Marketing standards, calendar and priorities

  • Actively familiar with Marketing functions, how they are connected through work flow

  • Knowledgeable about how changes to ingredients and packaging impact the Brand

  • Knowledgeable of changes in Restaurant programs, operational standards, systems and procedures

  • Knowledgeable of Supply Chain process flow, supplier management tools and specification program

Tertiary Responsibilities

  • Keep VP, R&D apprised on a regular basis of overall workload, potential issues and support needs

  • Assist R&D members on special projects which support the crew such as product demonstrations, tours, video/photo shoots, kitchen support and recipe taste test.



  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a results-oriented approach

  • Skilled in time management and organization with excellent attention to detail

  • Advanced PC skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact across all levels of the organization

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret policies, research reports and food/paper regulation documents

Education (or equivalent experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Project Management in a Restaurant or Manufacturing background a plus

  • Experience in project management, expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Superior writing, editing and proofreading skills

  • Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to set goals and convert plans into action

  • Ability to work on a full-time basis at the RSO in Plano, TX
