Honeywell Intelligrated is seeking a Controls Field Service Engineer to join our growing team of Tilt Tray and Cross belt product support group.

A Controls Field Service Engineer at Honeywell Intelligrated is passionate about automated electrical and control systems, a self-motivated professional, and strives to be at the leading edge of control system technology. Controls Field Service Engineers are primarily responsible for effectively and efficiently troubleshooting and isolating technical/controls problems reported from customers, distributors, or subcontractors. In addition, a Controls Field Service Engineer is the primary electrical and controls system owner for implementation of modifications and upgrades at a customer site. As such, you will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise and ensure the successful execution of projects at a customer site.

In this role, the Controls Field Service Engineer will have the following primary responsibilities:

  • Prepare and execute Tilt Tray and Cross Belt projects from start to finish
  • Work with design engineers and programmers to develop schematics, test plans, and user guides
  • Interface with industry leading customers
  • Program and test VFDs, PLCs, and electrical control panels
  • Attend all project related turnover meetings, functional design reviews and team meetings
  • Fully understand scope, budgets, and schedules for the project
  • Review initial project schedule and identify gaps or changes needed
  • Maintain and track issues list, reporting to his Supervisor and Project Manager as required
  • Perform controls and electrical testing to provide feedback to the design engineers and programmers
  • Complete all on-site testing and provide red-lines of schematics
  • Work alone or as part of a team onsite depending on the scope and magnitude of the project
  • Provide site/field reports daily, including progress, issues, and next steps, as requested
  • Deliver successful final material handling systems to the customer
  • Attend emergency service support at customer facilities
  • Provide in-depth technical training to customers.


  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent. Some experience in the field
  • Microsoft Office experience (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, One note)
  • Siemens S7 experience
  • Rockwell Studio 5000 experience
  • 3 -5 years of PLC experience / automation programming
  • 3-5 years of troubleshooting electrical circuits, 3 phase motors, and VFD programming experience
  • 3-5 years of troubleshooting with voltmeter, amp probe, oscilloscope, network analyzer
  • Safety control system experience
  • Fieldbus knowledge (Profibus, Ethernet, ControlNet etc.)
  • Networking experience (RS-485, ethernet, TCP/IP)
  • Controls system experience (Unix, Linux, Windows 7/10)
  • Technical writing and public speaking
  • Detailed oriented
  • UL, NEC, and NFPA 70E knowledge
  • A valid driver’s license
  • A valid Passport
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and abroad 90% of the time, work nights and/or weekends.


  • Deep understanding of electrical engineering and network drawings
  • Capability to complete demanding assignments by using electrical engineering knowledge and tools
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams to deliver optimal solutions
  • Clearly and concisely convey subtle or complex messages to a non-technical audience
  • Capability to follow guidelines and ensure efficiency on given project tasks
  • Excellent computer literacy and technical writing
  • Ability to focus on essential information and identify key details (detail oriented)
  • Ability to quickly analyze, incorporate and apply latest information and concepts. Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision
  • Be able to work alone or as part of a team
  • Be able to lead and supervise cross-functional teams on the field
  • Willingness to consistently take the initiative to get things done and do things before being asked by others or forced to by events
