Kforce has a client in Scottsdale, Arizona (AZ) that is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer.Summary:The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for developing and monitoring the electrical engineering design best practices employed in new product development. The role will also include substantial hands-on work designing electronic devices, including schematics capture, PCB layout or physical design, testing, debugging/troubleshooting to the component, and migration of your design through the Verification and Validation effort and into full production. They also will assist with coordination of electrical engineering support for Production, Service, Sales, Regulatory, and Supply Chain Management. The role also requires development of new technology, feasibility studies, and other tasks as assigned by the Vice President of Research and Development. In addition to the responsibilities above, the Engineer will also serve as a Key Technical Contributor to new product design and legacy product support. They will apply their hardware and software experience in embedded processor systems, digital design, analog design, high-voltage design, mixed-signal design, programmable logic, schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, troubleshooting to the component level, vendor management, regulatory testing support, and verification and validation activities.Essential Job Functions:

  • Write embedded firmware and software to define logic or control functions

  • Design systems, capture schematics, layout PCB's, build and test prototypes

  • Build, test and validate products to ICE60601-1 4th addition standards

  • Write and review electrical engineering documentation and work instructions

  • Develop technical solutions to achieve marketing/sales requirements to ISO13485 standards

  • Drive electrical engineering design standards and best practices

  • Manage vendors, procure quotes, and manage prototype schedules and deadlines

  • Experience in designing systems, schematic capture and layout of PCB's

  • Experience building and testing prototypes

  • Experience writing embedded firmware and software to define logic or control functions is highly desired

  • Understanding of IEC and ISO standards

  • Ability to Solder, rework, and modify surface-mount PCBs is a plus

  • Experience with video processing and/or x-ray imaging is a plus

  • Knowledgeable of C compilers and coding is a plus but not required

  • Experience with high voltage systems is a plus

  • Experience with ARM Microcontrollers is plus

  • Experience with DFM and DFA principals would be a plus
