The Critical Facilities Technician (CFT) is responsible for all aspects of data center operations related to critical and non-critical infrastructure, equipment and systems.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Operating and maintaining critical and non-critical data center infrastructure, equipment and systems

  • Monitoring power, cooling capacity and environmental conditions within the data halls

  • Utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as a tool to manage all planned and unplanned data center work

  • Performing preventive maintenance on data center electrical and mechanical equipment

  • Assisting with the development, revision and execution of approximately 200 operating procedures and preventive maintenance inspections and performing quality control reviews to ensure accuracy, clarity and continual improvement

  • Resolving all electrical and mechanical issues within the Data Center quickly while minimizing risk and properly communicating issues to the appropriate chain of command

  • Responding to emergencies and critical issues as necessary and working independently and as a team, according to staffing and situation, towards complete recovery

  • Managing assigned workflow tasks in order to provide timely turnaround

  • Escorting and working effectively with outside contractors, ensuring they are abiding by critical facility work rules

  • Working shifts to support 24×7 data center operation, and having flexibility in work hours to cover other shifts


Required Skills/Experience:

  • 1 or more years of experience working in a mission critical environment

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven problem-solving and analysis skills for evaluating a situation, identifying solutions, and working with leadership and teammates to resolve

  • Experience working in a team-based environment

  • Demonstrated experience maintaining focus in high-pressure situations

  • Proven ability reading and understand electrical and mechanical manuals, drawings, and sketches

  • Experience working proficiently and safely with hand tools and power tools

  • Experience providing a “can-do” customer service attitude which is conscientious and takes personal pride in their work

Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials:

  • High school degree required

  • Prior military or technical school training preferred

  • Electrical or mechanical license

Hours & Work Schedule

Hours per Week: 40

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:30am - 3:30pm
