Position Description


What does an extraordinary Technical Solutions Architect do?


As a Solutions Architect for Fiserv you will provide management and engineering teams with technical advice in one or more IT areas including but not limited to: IT architecture, infrastructure, cloud development, engineering and software architecture design, business analysis, DevOps, project and product implementation. As the Solution Architect, you will have to understand how all parts of the business model work together including processes, operating environments, and application architectures. Understanding these processes, you will be able to design and/or facilitate a specific solution that fits the environment best.


As a Solutions Architect, you will be a valuable technical resource supporting integrated Fiserv solutions. You will be responsible for producing high level designs for proposed solutions and once approved, working with the various technology and product teams on solution requirements and implementation. You will provide leadership and continuity across implementation teams to ensure a successful delivery to the client. You will be a trusted advisor for internal resources and client resources.


Essential Job Responsibilities:


  • Provide leadership and oversight with designated Fiserv key client relationships; interface and collaborate with C- level and Sponsors on proposed strategies and solutions across organization needs.


  • Combine superb interpersonal skills, technical capability and creative thinking to consult with technology and business owners to understand business needs, map those needs to solutions, and architect successful solutions.


  • Provide consultative technical support to technology owners and business units. Act as a liaison between various engineering teams and the client during planning, design, build phases of solution lifecycle.


  • Work with sales, project managers, program managers and technical resources to develop cost estimates for solution implementation proposals including resources, Hardware / Software, professional services.


  • Prepare proposals and presentations for leadership within Fiserv and or clients.


  • Analyzing and documenting requirements creating technical blue prints.


  • Participating in technology selection.


  • High aptitude for problem-solving and trouble-shooting.


  • Adapt easily to constantly changing projects and priorities.


  • Work independently and complete assigned project responsibilities under limited supervision.

Travel required : Ability to travel up to 50% initially (first 90 days) then level off at around 20%.


Basic Qualifications for Consideration :


  • High School/GED Diploma


  • Analyzing and documenting requirements creating technical diagrams (blue prints) utilizing tools such as (UML, Visio or other related tools).


  • 10 years’ experience leading multi-product architectural design.


  • Experience MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).


  • Experienced managing 10 or more projects at a time.

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in CIS, MIS, EE, or related discipline.


  • Understanding of Fiserv products including core banking and channels or Financial industry experience


  • Experience in technical consulting or pre-sales


  • Possess excellent oral/written communications and presentation skills


  • Familiar with Agile/Scrum processes.


  • Experience with application development and deployment


  • Deep understanding and experience across IT technology stack including virtualization platforms, IaaS/PaaS (Pivotal Cloud Foundry, AWS, Azure), databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL), security, networking, HA/DR, PCI compliance
