To continue operating at our high standards, we are seeking a Warehouse Manager to step into a pivotal leadership role that will be responsible for overseeing the operations of a large, dynamic warehouse team at a premier auction house. This role will oversee our warehouse associate team, which includes property handlers, fulfillment staff, and inventory specialists. This role will be responsible for ensuring the team follows best practices regarding the receipt, storage, and movement of valuable and unique property. This role is ideal for an experienced leader with a structured approach to organizing and maintaining a warehouse for increased productivity, safety, and efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, supervise, and develop a large team of warehouse associates, including property handlers, fulfillment staff, and inventory specialists.
- Implement daily morning team huddles, ensure scheduled lunch and breaks are taken, approve hours, and schedule overtime as needed.
- Assign tasks, oversee performance, and ensure team members meet auction and property-related deadlines effectively and efficiently.
- Implement organizational best practices for the warehouse space, including put-away processes, clearing aisles for an efficient inventory flow, and ensuring property is stored safely and securely.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all internal teams, including operations, administrators, cataloging, specialist, and marketing teams, to coordinate any and all property needs, including the receipt, movement, and release.
- Work closely with Operations leadership on implementing a new inventory system, ensuring it is effectively integrated into warehouse operations.
- Enforce adherence to inventory best practices and policies among warehouse associates, maintaining accurate records and updated scans of all property.
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimize warehouse workflows and reduce inefficiencies.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols, ensuring a secure environment for warehouse associates and property.
- Prepare and deliver regular reports on inventory, productivity, and operational metrics to senior management.
- Manage warehouse supplies, equipment maintenance, and warehouse associate forklift certifications.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience in warehouse management, logistics, or a related field, preferably in an auction house or high-value and volume-driven inventory environment.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring large teams.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and experience with system implementation is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments, teams, and personalities.
- Knowledge of industry best practices for handling and storing high-value or delicate property is a plus.
- Substantial lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying of property is required.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds.
- OSHA Forklift Certification is a plus.
PAY & SCHEDULE
- Compensation: $80,000-$90,000 annually
- Schedule: Full-time 40 hours/week position with the ability to work extended hours during peak auction season
- This is an in-person position
