Weekend CNC Machinist

Description

We are looking for the right person to help fill our weekend machinist position. The base schedule is 36 hours per week, Friday through Sunday, and the compensation is based on 40 hours. The CNC machinist will be required to accurately and efficiently machine parts according to print by choosing the appropriate sequence of operations and executing the best setup to meet blueprint dimensions and tolerances.

Essential Functions

• Set up and operate a machine utilizing a variety of lathes including vertical and horizontal.
• Perform daily equipment start-up and clean-up of equipment.
• Regular use of manual tools; Dial Calipers, Dial indicators, and OD/ID Mics to verify dimensions.
• Knowledge of Fanuc and/or Fagor controls.
  
  

Work Schedule

• Friday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• This position is scheduled for 36 hours per week but is compensated for 40 hours
  
  

Requirements

• Experience: 3–5 years of machining experience required
• Technical Skills: Programming knowledge is a plus (training available).
• Large turning experience preferred
• Work Ethic: Must demonstrate an employee-owner mindset, with strong decision-making and accountability.
• Additional Skills: Forklift experience preferred and familiarity with alloy steel machining required.
• Blueprint Proficiency: Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and BOMs.
• Fork-lift experience preferred.
• Overhead crane experience preferred.
• Detail-oriented: High accuracy, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.
• Alloy Steel experience is a plus!

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Physical activities include pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and reaching as necessary.
• Steel-toe boots and safety glasses are required.
