Michele Pelafas Inc, is an award-winning high volume niche design firm seeking a Interior Design Finish & Décor Specialist. Our design team is a close-knit team of artistically talented individuals who bring to each project the full power of our collective experience and insight. We are looking for driven and talented team player, with strong knowledge of interior/architectural finishes, sourcing furniture and décor for commercial projects. In this position, the ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail and aesthetics, with at least 2 years of experience in selecting and recommending decor, furniture, finishes, and materials. This role requires a balance of creativity, technical knowledge, and excellent client communication skills to help bring design concepts to life.

Desired Skills And Experience

  • A degree or certification in Interior Design, Fine Arts, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience specializing in decor, furniture, finishes, and materials selection.
  • Strong knowledge of design principles, trends, and materials.
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Programma, Gatheritit! Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Office Suite + Quickbooks (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating aesthetically pleasing and functional spaces.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain comprehensive records and documentation.
  • Flexibility to travel to client sites, showrooms, and supplier locations as needed.

Responsibilities To Include

  • Research + Sourcing; resourceful in able to obtain project information; fabrics, furniture, architectural elements.
  • Prepare customer product cut sheets & Specifications
  • Read Floor Plans + Architectural Drawings
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their design preferences, functional needs, and budget requirements.
  • Source, select, and recommend high-quality decor items, furniture, finishes, and materials that align with project goals and brand standards.
  • Develop mood boards, material palettes, and design presentations to effectively communicate design concepts to clients.
  • Stay up-to-date on current trends, new materials, and innovations in the interior design and decor industry.
  • Coordinate with vendors, manufacturers, and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of furnishings and finishes.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including product specifications, cost estimates, and order tracking.
  • Ensure that all selected materials and finishes comply with safety, sustainability, and building regulations.
  • Assist in creating detailed project schedules, ensuring all design elements are delivered and installed on time.
  • Conduct site visits to oversee the implementation of design elements and ensure quality control.
  • Provide support to the interior design team during all project phases, including conceptualization, design development, and final execution.
