Overall Purpose: The Industrial Engineer is a problem solver that makes use of industrial engineering principles and tools to promote and assist in driving excellence in manufacturing, engineering, and service operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Utilizes engineering methods (ex: methods analysis/time standards, mathematical models, simulation, and statistics) to identify production constraints as well as inefficiencies within the organization to support the development of optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources
  • Analyzes capability, capacity, throughput, work flow, and logistics (ex: critical path, product lead time, material transportation, PFMEA, and factory layout design) and assists in designing improved value stream(s)
  • Assist in developing models and spread sheets to analyze data (ex: operations research and statistical analysis) and provides summary of analysis and metrics to internal customers
  • Research, design, develop, improve and implement processes as directed to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality through the application of Industrial Engineering concepts
  • Apply lean and six sigma improvement principles (ex: design of experiments, value stream mapping, and 5S) to reduce quality issues, remove waste from processes, and reduce overall manufacturing production time.
  • Communicate and interact with employees to analyze processes and gather data for process improvements. This may include observing and documenting processes and collecting data in a manufacturing environment during various phases of product production phases
  • Effectively communicate improvement solutions through a data driven approach
  • Demonstrate a strong technical foundation, project management skills, leadership initiative, and excellent communication skills
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, policies for attendance and punctuality and standards for safety

Other Duties

  • Provides support for project completion or other duties based on the needs of the Process Improvement Department

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering required, preferably from an ABET accredited university
  • Technical education and experience to apply Industrial Engineering principles, theories, and concepts with high level of competency in order to communicate solutions for a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity
  • 1-2 years of related work experience preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified preferred
  • Proficient in CREO CAD software for factory layout design
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Capable of working under general supervision with basic instructions
  • Fluent in English (able to read, speak, write and understand)
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident)

Work Environment: Warehouse and office setting

Must be a U.S. Person based on ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident). This position is expected to be exposed to information which is subject to U.S. export control regulations, i.e. the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
