Communications & PR Specialist

The Communications & PR Specialist at One Planet Group is integral to managing and elevating the presence of our brand across all platforms. Reporting directly to the Head of Communications & PR, this role involves overseeing the social media strategy for One Planet Group and its subsidiaries, crafting engaging content, media outreach and driving internal and external communication initiatives.

This is an in-person role at our office in Walnut Creek, CA. We will not be accepting applications from people located outside this area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Social Media Management: Oversee and enhance the content strategy across various social media channels, ensuring alignment with our corporate branding and communication goals
• Content Development: Produce compelling content and website that resonates with our diverse audience and supports our marketing objectives
• Internal Communication: Lead the creation of internal newsletters, ensuring timely and relevant corporate updates are shared within the organization, while working closely with the Human Resources department in various employee related initiatives
• Public Relations: Identify and develop PR opportunities for One Planet Group and its CEO & founder, Payam Zamani, including pitching for awards, securing speaking engagements, contributing op-eds and more
• Special Projects & Programs: Coordinate a variety of internal and external special projects and programs, ensuring they reflect One Planet’s values and enhance brand visibility.
  
  

Candidate Profile:

• Experience Required: At least 5 years in media relations, communications, or event planning, with a proven track record of managing multiple communication channels
• Strategic Thinker: Ability to strategize, implement, and pivot communication plans swiftly in a dynamic environment
• Strong Communication Skills: Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to craft stories that engage and inform
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with tools such as Figma, Slack, Canva, and Google Workspace and management of all social media platforms
• Trend Awareness: A keen understanding of evolving communication trends and the ability to apply this knowledge to elevate our brand
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality and accurate work
