Shepperd Construction is seeking a results-driven Account Manager to drive sales, build long-term customer relationships, and contribute to our expanding commercial, industrial, and government construction projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve financial targets by managing tasks and resources to meet revenue, gross margin, and net margin goals.
  • Manage customer accounts assigned by the Sales Manager, ensuring strong relationships and meeting specified performance metrics.
  • Generate and submit proposals while ensuring cost-effective, optimized-profit contracts.
  • Meet contract acquisition rate targets set by the Sales and Marketing Manager.
  • Drive business growth by generating leads and acquiring new contracts.
  • Provide exceptional customer service through urgent responsiveness to client communications.
  • Collaborate with operations personnel to ensure successful contract execution.
  • Select and manage subcontractors to complete jobs within budget.
  • Support public relations efforts alongside the Director of Sales and Marketing.
  • Continuously improve through sales training, mentorship, and strategy development.
  • Provide mentorship and oversight for Associate Account Managers.

What You Bring To The Table

  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience (construction industry preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of asphalt and concrete applications.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and communication skills.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on team success over individual recognition.
  • High sense of urgency and ethical decision-making.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience as determined by the Sales & Marketing Manager).
  • Ability to adapt, learn, and apply innovative sales strategies.

  • Full-time position
