Developer Platforms Intern

The Developer Platforms team at Zoox is dedicated to building an Observability Platform that ensures the performance and reliability of our mission-critical services. By delivering real-time insights and telemetry data across distributed systems, our platform empowers engineers to monitor, analyze, and optimize every aspect of system health. We support complex environments including mobile devices, cloud infrastructure, on-premise systems, and vehicles, ensuring seamless visibility wherever services run.

We are looking for an engineer to help solve the challenges of distributed tracing, continuous profiling, and SLO-based monitoring to provide deep correlation and understanding of how services operate at scale.

In this Role, You Will...

• Design and develop SDKs to emit telemetry signals such as logs, metrics, traces, and events across various runtime environments
• Build and maintain infrastructure to ship, store, and process terabytes of telemetry data
• Create intuitive UI tools that generate automated insights from telemetry data, providing engineers with actionable information to improve system performance and reliability
  
  

Qualifications

• Passionate about data and its role in driving insights and improving system performance
• Comfortable provisioning and operating infrastructure, ideally using tools like Terraform and Helm
• Proficient in at least one of the following programming languages: C++, Kotlin, Python, or TypeScript

• Experience with distributed systems, telemetry, or observability tools
  
  

Compensation

The monthly salary range for this position is $6,500 to $9,500. Compensation will vary based on role, degree level and type, and benefits will be offered based on eligibility. Additional benefits may include medical insurance, 401k, and a housing stipend.
