We are seeking a Project Coordination and Oversight Lead to support the USDA Forest Service’s twenty-four (24) Job Corps Civilian Conservation Centers (JCCCC) across the United States.

So, what will the Project Coordination and Oversight Lead at Terrestris do?

As the Project Coordination and Oversight Lead you will manage, coordinate, and provide oversight for Job Corps Civilian Conservation Centers (JCCCC) across the United States. The role is integral to the success of the program, ensuring the efficient delivery of services, operations, and project management across all 24 Job Corps Centers. You will play a critical role in maintaining program integrity, monitoring performance, and supporting the mission of developing the next generation of conservation leaders.

What does a typical day look like for the Project Coordination and Oversight Lead?

You Will

  • Oversee and coordinate day-to-day operations across all 24 JCCCC locations.
  • Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and deliverables to meet strategic program goals.
  • Facilitate communication between the USDA Forest Service, JCCCC staff, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of ongoing projects and initiatives, identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Lead the development and implementation of operational standards, policies, and procedures for all centers to ensure consistent, high-quality performance.
  • Track, analyze, and report on project outcomes and key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management.
  • Provide regular updates and recommendations to Forest Service leadership on project progress and potential areas of improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations, program guidelines, and safety standards across all JCCCC centers.
  • Foster strong working relationships with local, state, and federal agencies, non-profits, and contractors involved in the Job Corps program.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for all issues related to project oversight and coordination, ensuring effective communication and problem resolution.
  • Represent the USDA Forest Service and the Job Corps program at meetings, conferences, and public events.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of program budgets for JCCCC centers.
  • Ensure appropriate resource allocation, including staffing, equipment, and supplies, to meet program objectives.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify funding opportunities and grant applications for program support.
  • Develop and deliver training materials and programs to improve project management capabilities among JCCCC staff.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to local teams to foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure alignment between training programs and operational requirements to enhance overall program performance.
  • Identify potential risks related to projects, including financial, operational, or safety-related concerns, and proactively address these risks.
  • Ensure all JCCCC operations and projects meet federal, state, and local compliance requirements.
  • Maintain documentation for audits, inspections, and evaluations as required by federal regulations.

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the quality control professional we’re looking for if you have:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ of project coordination or other similar experience.
  • Familiarity with the standard operations of Job Corps.
  • Familiarity with onboarding new contract staff services, required documents, and Identity Credentialing.
  • Familiarity with Invoicing and how to submit invoices.
  • Understanding of Job Corps’ process of managing subcontractors.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project) and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
