General Description
The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining Burke Center facilities, including but not limited to, carrying out repairs, and managing and monitoring repairs performed by vendors. Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized licensed technician. Job duties include routine maintenance on facilities to include preventative and corrective tasks; completing daily work assignments in a timely and accurate manner; analyzing repair requests, troubleshooting and repair. Routine maintenance can be, but not limited to, any activity assigned to keep our assets in good operating condition and reduce unexpected breakdowns.
Education
Required: Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent
Experience
Required: At least one (1) year of basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems. Experience using hand and electrical tools; ability to read technical manuals and drawings along with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred: At least three (3) years of the above experience.
Licenses/Certifications
Required: Valid Texas driver's license.
Preferred: Any license applicable to enhancing the ability to perform work on facilities.
Special Requests or Comments
Required: Must have a driving record insurable by Burke's insurance administrator.
Physical Requirements
Required: Sight, hearing, talking, lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, bending, driving a vehicle, and hand/finger dexterity to perform job duties.
Hours
Monday - Friday; Generally, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., On call may be required.
