The team at Advanced Space is leading humanity back to the Moon and pioneering innovative solutions in the space industry. Based in Westminster, Colorado, this team is looking to add a dynamic Strategic Advisor to serve as a liaison between our company and key external stakeholders, including local government officials, community organizations, universities, and supply chain partners. This individual will play a crucial role in advocating for company interests, fostering strong relationships, developing policies and processes, and ensuring successful program management. Responsibilities:

External Relations:

  • Act as the liaison with Non-profits agencies, local government agencies, community leaders, and industry associations working with our Government Relations Officer in D.C.
  • Advocate for company initiatives, policies, and projects with local government entities, non-profits and community organizations.
  • Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments that may impact the company.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with universities and research institutions to support workforce development, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Coordinate internship and co-op programs to attract top talent from academic institutions.
  • Develop initiatives to enhance STEM education outreach and engagement with students.


Supply Chain & Vendor Relations:

  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure efficient and reliable supply chain operations.
  • Collaborate with program management and systems engineering teams to enhance vendor partnerships and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen local supplier engagement and mission solution initiatives.
  • Develop roadmaps and strategies to execute project objectives of innovation, research and development.
  • Assist in the development of strategic initiatives that align with company goals and regulatory requirements.


Policy & Process Development:

  • Develop and implement internal policies and processes to improve operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Ensure alignment with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and company objectives.
  • Provide guidance on governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.


Program Management:

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives, ensuring programs are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business priorities.
  • Track and report on program performance, identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to drive strategic initiatives and maintain accountability for results.
  • Develop and practice good internal/external communication systems.
  • Resolve conflicts, demands, and priorities on assigned programs.
  • Work unplanned program issues to a best solution, including development of plans-forward, escalation and increased resources, as required
  • Communicate program status to upper management via Program Management Reviews and other formal and informal methods.
  • Coordinate inputs from support organizations including engineering, contracts, finance, security, and others as needed.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule; the nature of the position requires the program manager to engage the Advanced Space team routinely at the on-site location in Westminster.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within assigned programs, across core staff within Advanced Space, and with external partners. Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in government affairs, community relations, supply chain management, or program management within the aerospace or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of business, government policies, regulatory frameworks, and supply chain dynamics.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with proposal development and business development processes.
  • Knowledge of aerospace industry trends, challenges, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with demanding customers, difficult schedules, and technically challenging projects.
  • Must be able to develop solutions to problems that require coordination of multiple diverse inputs from stakeholders across program requirements.
  • Ability to self-start and understand the big picture as well as technical, budget and schedule issues at the detail level.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, relationship-building skills, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
  • Excellent presentation development and delivery skills.
  • Thorough understanding of Change Control process to control, monitor and resolve internal and external changes related to Program plan.
  • Customer focused, must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment.


Eligibility Requirements:

  • Ability to work in the Westminster, CO office 3-5 days/week during core business hours.
  • Applicants must be a US Person (citizen or Green Card Holder/permanent resident, or protected individual)


Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base Salary Range - $110,000 - $170,000 based on role, employee experience
