The ABC Strategic Partnerships & Events team plays a key role in promoting our shows and building the ABC brand. On this team, you’ll contribute to a wide range of marketing strategies and tactics that serve to drive awareness around key network programming. The team works to further corporate priorities and Disney General Entertainment business initiatives through managing ongoing relationships both internally across the network and externally with third party brands, corporate partners, distribution partners, studios, affiliates, etc. The team is also responsible for the development and execution of large-scale events, screenings and experiential marketing stunts and initiatives.

The Specialist, Strategic Partnerships & Events will be responsible for supporting all team members with a variety of projects as needed to help maximize partnership and promotional opportunities for the company. Specifically, the candidate is a self-starter who has a passion for television and requires moderate oversight in performing his or her duties. The Specialist should have a strong background in communications, account management, and entertainment marketing and have an understanding of television marketing strategies and initiatives. The position reports to the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Events.

Responsibilities


  • Lead and support the development and execution of promotional campaigns with strategically-selected consumer brands including partner identification, competitive research, concept development, contact sheet management, pitch deck development, execution, and recap decks/wrap reports.
  • Develop and contribute to ideation and production of large-scale consumer events, screenings and panels, brand presence at annual tentpole events (CMA Fest, Comic-Con, D23, SXSW, Essence Fest, etc.), and experiential marketing initiatives and stunts.
  • Manage content partnerships identifying key platforms to showcase content, identify key spots and episodes, secure music clearances and approvals, submit production orders and coordinate deliveries.
  • Develop promotional campaigns and maintain strong relationships with partners like Hulu, cable providers and streaming services (Comcast, DIRECTV, YouTube TV, etc.), Sales/Brand Solutions, content networks and external studios.
  • Establish positive and effective relationships and processes with ABC Marketing Strategy, Digital, Creative Services, Production, Media, Legal/BA and other key teams ensuring in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of brand strategies, consumer promotion tactics and best practices.
  • Develop presentation decks, submit production/graphics orders, manage budget tracking/invoice processing, data reporting, recaps and tracking, etc.  
  • Manage the development of promotional premium items for events, gifting and stunts, ensuring that all items are on brand and adhere to company quality requirements.
  • Manage marketing toolkits for key priorities and distribute to partners as appropriate (affiliates, non-profits, etc).
  • Present key trends, buzzy experiential stunts and popular consumer brands that are active in the partnerships space to direct team and other internal stakeholders.


Basic Qualifications


  • 2+ years experience in entertainment or related industry with strong interest in marketing partnerships, events and/or experiential.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and interpersonal, expressing ideas, thoughts, or facts in a clear, convincing, and organized way.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of personalities and successfully jump from project to project with ease.
  • Highly organized and able to work independently on projects – attention to detail is imperative.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and problem solving skills - the candidate must demonstrate good judgment and be able to think on his/her toes.
  • Ability to efficiently handle a large quantity of projects and tasks simultaneously under deadline, deal effectively with pressure, and complete a task with minimal direction or instruction.
  • Out-of-the-box thinker with a passion for developing creative marketing ideas and concepts.
  • Ability to understand and execute strategic key initiatives while demonstrating an inherent understanding of the “big picture” when approaching tasks.
  • Ability to work long hours including nights, weekends and holidays and to travel when needed. Flexibility and willingness to accommodate team priorities under short notice.
  • Experience with systems such as Microsoft Office and Google Workplace – Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Slides, Box, Keynote, etc.
  • Proactive problem solver with positive, can-do attitude.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Advanced degree and/or academic focus in a related field: Communications, PR, Advertising, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of ABC programming preferred as well as competitive landscape.
  • Strong knowledge of The Walt Disney Company and personal affinity for the brand desired.
  • Experience with Photoshop.


The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $64,300 to $86,200 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
