As an Engineering Design Intern with KLJ you will assist in providing engineering support to engineers with day-to-day project related tasks. The role will be a great opportunity to get firsthand experience with engineering related projects and to start to utilize your educational background.

What will you do?

• Assists engineer teams in various tasks and duties.
• Assists Engineer with research, development and design of projects.
• Assists Engineer with the preparation of engineering drawings and documents as assigned
• Assist Engineer with construction inspection of infrastructure
• Apply knowledge of fundamental civil engineering principles and standards to individual project tasks
• Learn and utilize analysis and design software
• Ensure compliance with KLJ quality standards
• Utilize effective written and oral communication
  
  

What you’re responsible for

• Become familiar with the details of putting together a set of plans
• Perform basic engineering calculations
• Organize information for use in drawings or other documents
  
  

What you’ll need

• Enrolled in a 4 year college studying a degree in Civil Engineering
• Must possess basic MS Office skills including Word and Excel
• Must have a valid driver’s license and able to operate motorized vehicles
  
  

Preferences

• Previous internship experience in related field
• Self-starter

• Be able to walk on uneven terrain up to three miles per day
