ESI Motion is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Buyer with track record of successfully driving activities of the department engaged in procurement and purchasing of components for complex electro-mechanical assemblies used in Defense
and Aerospace industry.
The Senior Buyer uses expertise for a range of purchasing activities, including pricing and negotiating with suppliers reviewing terms and contracts to reach highest quality at best value. Performs complex purchasing activities, while ensuring procurement procedures are in compliance with government laws, regulations and management objectives.

Responsibilities
- Communicate priorities and schedule changes to outside processing suppliers on a daily basis to support changes in production requirements.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers; communicate common supplier problems with Leadership.
- Share best practices across the group and willingly take on additional work.
- Assess inventory level and achieve goals of key production components.
- Monitor supplier orders to assure they are shipped on a timely basis.
- Improve supplier fill rates, quality, and lead times to fit product mix and needs.
- Obtain quotes from suppliers for production material and outside processing operations.
- Negotiate blanket purchase orders and pursue cost reduction initiatives that eliminate adverse Purchase Price Index. (PPI)
- Interact with sourcing teams to ensure best practices and greatest leverage in procurement, low-cost region sourcing, supplier assessment & management.
- Publish daily shortage report to communicate current delivery information from suppliers.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies on a timely basis.
- Manage supplier quality through the Non-Conforming Report (NCR)process.
- Minimize production impact by ensuring discrepant materials are addressed with Manufacturing Engineering, Procurement Quality, Supervisors and Suppliers.
- Work closely with suppliers and Procurement Quality Engineers to resolve Corrective Action Requests (CARs) generated from NCRs.
- Get parts to dock on-time to support on time-delivery.
- Any other task assigned by supervisor or management.
- Proficiency with MRP/ERP, MS Office applications, ASANA, Teams and other platforms.
- Must have a good understanding & prior Experience in Aerospace / Defense industry purchasing practices
- Experience in sourcing electronics commodities including PCB’s and PSBA’s
- Experience working in ISO 9001 / 9100 environment.
- Strong negotiation and supplier development skills
- Ability to manage a small team of buyers, conduct training, perform yearly performance reviews.
- Ability to coordinate materials and production schedules with multiple teams, solve urgent problems associated with the manufacture of products and document and communicate production outcomes and trends.
- Excellent oral and written English skills.
- Requires well-developed skill in communicating with internal and external customers.

- Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
- Minimum of 5+ years of recent buying experience
