Position Summary
This position has direct authority for planning, directing, implementing, and administration of physician and APN recruitment programs for the Department of Pediatrics. The Program Director of Physician and APN recruitment will be the primary recruitment liaison to clinical partners and college committees and on-campus events to enhance recruitment. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining partnerships with national and professional organizations, hospital partners, and the University of Illinois College of Medicine. This position reports to the direct supervision of the Director of Administrative Operations.

Position Summary

The Program Director of Physician and APN recruitment will be the primary recruitment liaison to clinical partners and college committees and on-campus events to enhance recruitment. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining partnerships with national and professional organizations, hospital partners, and the University of Illinois College of Medicine. This position reports to the direct supervision of the Director of Administrative Operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Create, implement, and lead a comprehensive recruitment program, including strategies to attract prospective physicians and academic professionals through outreach, partnerships, special events, and communication strategies. Assesses the efficiency of recruitment strategies and provides ongoing recommendations for program improvements. Accountable for the implementation of operational policies and procedures for the program. Attend and represent the Department of Pediatrics at regional and national conferences to present open positions. Participate in professional associations related to recruitment.
- In partnership with Director of Marketing and Public Affairs, produce marketing and social media campaigns to promote Department of Pediatrics recruitment program. In Partnership with Marketing, maintain an up-to-date departmental website Serves as a primary program advisor and recruitment support to the Department of Pediatrics division chiefs, program directors, and designated campus personnel on outreach and recruitment efforts. Collaborate with the Director of Administrative Operations and Pediatric Department head to compile, assess, and interpret data, including event outcomes, recruitment trends, and market area trends. Report findings to the relevant division chief and hospital partner.
- Oversees financial aspects of program including travel costs, resources and return on investment. Execute the budget for recruitment. Tracks and verifies all invoices and funds spent on external recruitment resources, including job postings, ad placements, third party placement fees. Analyzes effectiveness of advertising and resources used. Ensures consistent recruitment procedures within all divisions in the department
- Collaborate with the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria on facilitation of recruitment of faculty from diverse backgrounds. This includes Visa coordination, licensure, credentialing pieces, etc. Provides personalized relocation assistance to new physicians.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- A total of three (3) years (36 months) in education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position. (Note: Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.
