Qualifications

Education/ Experience Required:

• BA/BS in Business, Recreation, Psychology or related fields
• Minimum of three years’ experience in youth-related programs with supervisory and payroll management experience required.
• Budget responsibility exceeding $500,000 annually with track record of maximizing operating margin.
• Experience serving on leadership team of a Y (or similar), and/or camping background.
• Proven results in increasing program quality and growth through exceptional planning and organizational skills.
• Highly motivated with the consistent ability to meet or exceed goals, cultivate and retain program participants.
• Ability to quickly build rapport and develop effective relationships with program prospects and others to achieve goals.
• Consistently self-driven and goal-oriented with the ability to set effective team and individual goals and take ownership for results.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and adapt to changing contexts and priorities.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify and leverage relevant data to use in planning and decision-making.
• Ability to understand, adapt to and interact with diverse people, teams, perspectives and cultures.
• Proficient in using email, Internet, and other PC-based applications with the ability to learn and adapt to new technology.
  
  

Essential Functions

Under the direct supervision of the Center Executive Director, the Camp Senior Program Director will provide direct leadership and oversight to all programming at day camp YMCA Camp Cristina The senior director will be responsible for creating and implementing an integrated program strategy to support membership while delivering services as outlined by the association to include organization-wide standards and consistencies throughout all programs. The Camp Senior Program Director will provide supervision to multiple department staff teams driving superior program quality, ensuring all programs support membership, increasing program enrollments, and enhancing the member/participant experience. This position ensures that their teams operate efficiently and employs a continuous improvement model to meet and/or exceed goals for member/participant satisfaction, financial management and overall growth.

Critical areas of expertise include: leading others and working in teams, highly organized multi-program management, delivering and managing robust programs focusing on quality, proven results in growth in programs, successfully overseeing part-time and entry-level teams and interviewing, hiring and onboarding associates.
