The company has completed an initial public offering (IPO) in February of 2023. Position Summary

Structure Therapeutics is seeking an experienced, effective and respected Chief of Staff to manage the office of the CEO, ensuring effectiveness of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and supporting effectiveness of the board of directors (BOD) as the company continues its high growth trajectory to an increasingly complex global organization. Reporting to the CEO, this leader will be a “capacity multiplier” and central figure to help organize, facilitate, and effectuate the responsibilities of the CEO.

A key deliverable in this role is to provide organizational support to the CEO and executive team to facilitate and ensure their effectiveness as leaders of an increasingly complex global organization. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker and operational doer who will focus on the most critical organizational priorities with the purpose of bringing about positive change.

The successful candidate will be a trusted right hand to the CEO, building a strong, intuitive relationship to deeply understand their priorities, decision-making style, and reactions. They will leverage this insight to anticipate needs, navigate challenges, and drive actions that amplify the CEO’s impact and align with the company’s mission. This is a hybrid role that will require 4 days in the SSF, CA office (3 core days and 1 flex day).

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
    • Work directly with CEO in developing and communicating overarching corporate strategy and its components internally and externally
    • Provide insights and analysis to assist in strategic discussions and track follow-through actions
    • Identify potential risks and opportunities, propose mitigation strategies, and monitor progress against key performance indicators
    • Special projects to support CEO decision making, often requiring inputs from multiple branches of the organization
    • Ensure CEO is well prepared for internal and external meetings (i.e. board meetings, company town-halls, etc.)
  • Operational Support:
    • Organize and facilitate weekly ELT meetings, including agendas, meeting minutes and track pending decisions
    • Project management of CEO & ELT deliverables, commitments, offsite meetings, and time
    • Ensure integration of corporate dashboards and help monitor performance of organization as a whole
    • Preparation of materials for communications with the board of directors including meeting materials and regular updates
    • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to support informed decision-making by the CEO and ELT
    • Identify potential operating efficiencies and help drive company to solutions
    • Work with EA to manage CEO calendar and travel commitments
    • Other duties as assigned  
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Work with CEO and ELT in developing corporate goals and ensuring alignment of cascading goals across the organization
    • Track and manage tasks delegated by CEO to staff across the company to ensure timely completion
    • Organize efforts across the organization as needed to provide CEO with timely and reliable information to support CEO & BOD decision making, planning and communications
    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external
    • Facilitate communication and collaboration between departments and ensure alignment on critical decisions acting as a conduit of information across teams
Requirements

Education

  • PhD, MD, PharmD, MPH or other advanced scientific degree

Experience

  • 10+ years operating experience in the biopharmaceutical industry with strong understanding of the biotech development process, including clinical trials, regulatory pathways, and commercialization strategies
  • Demonstrated experience interacting with executive leadership and boards of directors
  • High EQ and comfortable influencing and collaborating with all levels of the organization
  • Experience with and ability to travel, both domestically and internationally
  • Experience gathering and integrating inputs from all disciplines in the company to facilitate assessments, planning and strategy by the CEO, executive team and Board of Directors
  • Able to help bring these inputs up to an appropriately high level to facilitate effective high-level communications, analysis and decision making
  • Strong holistic approach to working with and managing groups of high-performing individuals
  • Able to pull the best from teams while at the same time being able to contribute and help synthesize
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with competing priorities

Travel – up to 20%

The target salary range for this full-time role is $291,000 to $350,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Structure Therapeutics determines salary ranges based on level and scope of responsibilities, as well as location. Individual pay is further determined by additional factors, including relevant experience, specific job skills, education and training.
