Department Overview
Gas Operations ensures the delivery of safe and reliable gas service to our customers. Gas Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response. The Gas Qualifications group is under Gas Operations and oversees the DOT required pipe joining qualifications and operator qualifications and management for all of gas operations.
Position Summary
Manages and/or administers one or more company programs. Provides oversight, governance, communication, training, reporting as well as having oversight for the overall process and project management for the assigned program(s).
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
Job Responsibilities
- Applies expert knowledge of Program Management to wide-ranging issues and assignments.
- Works independently with guidance on only the most complex issues.
- May lead project teams and design new programs under a larger umbrella of goals and initiatives.
- Manages the program budget and oversees complex, cross-departmental programs.
- Develops plans to achieve program goals and provides regular and ad-hoc reports for review at the program level.
- Develops and delivers presentations to leaders regarding program progress.
- Monitors and ensures closure/completion of projects, identifying issues and developing solutions.
- Presents recommendations and implementation plans to leadership for approval.
- Leads partner organizations to improve processes, best practices, controls and procedures for efficiency and compliance.
- Represents the program as a subject matter expert in process improvement teams and stakeholder groups.
- May develop new policies, processes, infrastructure, documentation, and tools to support a new program.
- Ensures target audience understanding of the program's purpose and requirements.
- Works closely with approved contract OQ evaluation companies and ensures compliance with the program.
- Provides leadership or direction to lower-level peers and may lead work teams or groups.
Qualifications
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 7 years’ total related experience, SAP experience, Project or program management experience, managing capital or expense budgets.
- Desired: Team leadership and collaboration skills, excellent negotiation skills, knowledge of project management and process improvement best practices, strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills, analytical problem solving and decision-making ability, general financial management and budgeting skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
