Lead Materials Scientist

As a Lead Materials Scientist, you will lead innovative research and development efforts to advance Monolith’s material science capabilities, focusing on rubber compounding and polymer applications. You will apply your technical expertise to solve complex R&D challenges, drive process improvements, and support commercialization efforts. Your role will also include collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring colleagues, and representing Monolith’s technical expertise externally.

Why we want to know you:

• PhD in Materials Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of industry experience, with a strong focus on rubber compounding (plastics experience is a plus).
• Proven track record in evaluating, selecting, and recommending materials and suppliers for new product development or reformulation.
• Experience leading successful commercialization of new compounds or formulations.
• Deep understanding of polymer structure-property relationships and material processing techniques
• Expertise in DOE/Six Sigma methodologies for formulation development and troubleshooting
