Position Summary
Supplier Quality Engineer with global responsibilities across the Business Unit. Executes STEMCO’s supplier quality vision and works collaboratively with the Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain departments to assure that all parts, supplies, components and services received from outside sources are delivered on time and according to the specified level of quality. This involves being a liaison between STEMCO internal customers and external suppliers to provide flow of parts and information of the highest level of quality. Maintain Stemco Supplier Quality Assurance Manual (SQAM). This role reports to the Director of Supply Chain.

Establish quality and performance expectations for suppliers. Provide leadership to ensure accountability to the expectations.
Develop robust suppliers for parts/services that possess a strong organizational, technical and financial base with proven quality and delivery capability.
Develop and maintain a supplier certification system.
Provide technical assistance to suppliers in the development of business systems, statistical process control, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement to meet quality and delivery performance requirements.
Develop and manage process improvement through a cross-functional team concept.
Manage and track non-conformances of incoming components.
Monitor supplier performance using KPIs and conduct supplier quality audits.
Communicate performance measurements to suppliers and coordinate improvement activities when needed.
Coordinate with internal quality engineers on product quarantines, reworks, or returns, as applicable.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Quality Engineering/Industrial Engineering or equivalent required. Master’s degree desirable.
Minimum 5-7 years of experience involving Quality, Supply Chain or Manufacturing functions.
Potential travel: up to 50%, including international travel.
ASQ Certification as a Quality Engineer or Quality Auditor desired.
Knowledge and experience in statistical controls.
Proven leadership skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with teams.
Computer skills (Microsoft Office apps, Smartsheet’s, Minitab, etc.)
Experience with CMM’s, vision-based measurement systems, and spring analysis equipment.
Experience conducting MSA’s and reading technical information systems, such as data reports.
Able to read and comprehend blueprints and have working knowledge of GD&T basics.
