Strategy Internship

Overview

FMI’s Strategy Practice is seeking a high-energy, self-motivated intern to work closely with our Private Equity Services team. This growing team supports investment decisions by conducting thorough commercial due diligence to validate and vet target companies. Our team of skilled strategy consultants conducts in-depth research and analysis of market trends, industry dynamics, financials, and competitive landscape to provide data-driven insights. Our comprehensive and professional approach helps clients make informed investment decisions in the dynamic private equity market. This full-time, paid internship requires a commitment of 40 hours per week for a period of 10 weeks over the summer and pays $28/hr. This opportunity is based in our corporate headquarters in downtown, Raleigh, NC.

Responsibilities

• Conducting thorough market research to gather and analyze data on industry trends, competitive landscapes, customer behavior, and other relevant market dynamics to inform commercial due diligence projects.
• Utilizing a variety of research methods, including primary and secondary research, data analysis, and financial modeling, to assess market opportunities and risks.
• Collaborating with senior team members to develop research methodologies, data collection plans, and analytical frameworks for each project.
• Analyzing and synthesizing complex data and information into clear and concise reports and presentations for clients, including findings, recommendations, and actionable insights.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or related field in progress.
• Experience in strategy consulting, private equity, investment banking, or related fields
• Experience conducting market research and providing data-driven insights.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Construction industry knowledge and/or experience a plus
• Proficiency with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Previous experience with Tableau and Qualtrics is a plus
