Description

As an Archaeologist, responsibilities will include pedestrian survey, site mapping and recording, excavation, archival research, and assisting with authoring report sections, construction monitoring, and other duties as assigned.

What are the core responsibilities for the role?


  • Conducting field and desktop archeology investigations and preparing reports.

  • Scheduling, managing, and conducting fieldwork and documentation associated with archaeological projects for a variety of clients throughout the southwestern United States.

  • Responsible for contributing to the development of various levels of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)-compliant documentation.

  • Working collaboratively with a variety of project teams and clients in the public and private sectors and handling concurrent assignments.

  • Working with federal and state agencies to develop and implement Programmatic Agreements

  • Regional travel is occasionally required.

  • Prepare proposals for internal and external clients.



Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:


  • Bachelor's Degree in anthropology/archaeology

  • 1-2 years of experience in cultural resources management

  • Field school or excavation experience

  • Demonstrated practical field experience in the U.S.

  • Working knowledge of GPS systems and the collection of field data

  • Basic knowledge of cultural resources management and Section 106

  • Fieldwork experience in Utah or areas with similar cultural resources.
