The Opportunity

The Senior Operational Excellence Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing manufacturing and business process improvements to increase capacity, reduce lead-time, minimize work-in-process, and enhance process flow and efficiency at the site. This role will span multiple facets of the organization, including manufacturing, design, supplier development, documentation, and Abbott suppliers.

What You’ll Work On

  • Implement process improvements using various methodologies (DMAIC, lean manufacturing, etc.).
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external team members.
  • Manage large-scale projects from start to finish, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
  • Oversee site communications and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Analyzes, creates and implements manufacturing and/or business process improvements that increase capacity, reduce lead-time, reduce work in process and improve the quality, cost and delivery performance of Abbott
  • Completes capacity analyzes internally and/or at suppliers for headcount, equipment and space requirements using simulation software or other effective tools.
  • Identifies opportunities and drives incorporation of appropriate Lean tool usage such as 5S, time study, line balancing, standard work, material flow and value stream mapping, process mapping and Kaizen event into the daily functions of continuous improvement.
  • Implements and maintains effective metrics with internal customers.
  • Participates as a core member in cross-functional teams to quickly troubleshoot and eliminate product supply issues internally or at suppliers.
  • Convinces internal customer to make fundamental changes to their manufacturing and/or business processes.
  • Makes recommendations to teams, which drive higher yielding, lower cost, more manufacturable products. May use financial analyses tool and recommend alternative courses of action.
  • Manage site communications program
  • Participation in the site culture committee
  • Project Management: design, communicate and implement an operational plan for completing projects; monitor progress and performance against the project plan; resolve operational problems, minimize delays. Develop schedules, budgets and forecasts; select materials, equipment, project staff, and contractors as warranted to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Liaise with other areas in the organization to secure specialized resources and contributions for the projects.
  • Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.
  • Coach and mentor project staff and assist them to solve problems.
  • Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices; build productive internal/external working relationships
  • Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies
  • Other duties as assigned, according to the changing needs of the business

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in related field
  • Minimum four years related experience
  • Strong understanding of business unit function and cross group dependencies/relationships
  • Cognitive Skills – Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
  • Green Belt or higher Six Sigma certification
  • Understanding of key software systems including Microsoft Office Suite expertise (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Teams), PowerBI, Smartsheet, etc.

Preferred

  • Biotech or Med Device experience.
  • Knowledgeable of federal and other regulations, e.g. QSR’s, ISO, ISO 13485, CMDR.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Adaptable and willing to take on multiple new tasks and responsibilities.
  • Independent collaborative self-starter with the ability to make appropriate quality-related decisions in real time.
  • Process orientated, logical, analytical, meticulous, highly organized and able to analyze data & implement solutions.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment while satisfying individual responsibilities and objectives.
