The Sustainability Coordinator will assist with LAIKA’s sustainability initiatives by working with the Sustainability leadership to implement sustainable practices and policies across the studio, monitor their effectiveness, and advocate for environmental sustainability.
Job Functions
- Work with sustainability leadership and the sustainability committee to develop and implement sustainability programs and practices.
- Conduct environmental audits and assessments, identifying areas for improvement.
- Educate employees and stakeholders about sustainability best practices.
- Work closely with all departments to ensure sustainability practices are being followed.
- Monitor, collect data and report on the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives and written programs.
- Organize and participate in sustainability events and initiatives.
- Coordinate recycling pick-ups and transportation subsidies.
- Document policies and update as needed.
- 1-2 years of experience in Corporate Sustainability or ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) or knowledge and understanding of the principles of environmental studies or sustainability
- Strong understanding of sustainability practices and environmental legislation.
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to influence and engage a wide range of stakeholders.
