SUMMARY: Assists all cooks with basic job duties. Ensures food is brought from the kitchen and supporting areas to the line in a timely manner. Maintains kitchen supplies necessary to prepare foods. Ensures that hot line, salad station, and dessert stations are well stocked.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Transports food items to the appropriate areas.
  • Delivers items from the Preparation station.
  • Maintains a clean and well-stocked workstation in accordance with established health and safety guidelines.
  • Completes all assigned side work.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: None listed. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Work may include weekends, nights, and early mornings.
  • Must be able to carry and balance service tray on shoulder.
  • Must be able to obtain all local, state and federal regulatory permits as required by position.
  • Must have the ability to work in a team environment.
  • At least 6 months kitchen experience in a high volume establishment preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to work in a wet and humid area with high noise levels. Must work calmly and under stress when the volume of business increases. Must be able to stand for extended periods.
