Laboratory Technician

Laboratory Technician (CONRACT)

You are a dedicated entry-level Laboratory Technician responsible for performing testing and analysis of wastewater and recycled water samples. You will gain hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation, quality control procedures, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

This position pays: $27-$30/hr

Location: Napa, CA

Schedule: Weekends Required

What You Will Be Doing

• Conduct physical, chemical, and bacteriological tests and analyses on wastewater and recycled water samples.
• Identify potential or actual problems in analytical procedures and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare and standardize chemical reagents and sterilize bacteriological media.
• Enter water quality data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Set up, calibrate, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Collect and handle water samples in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and laboratory accreditation standards.
• Assist in research and development of improved laboratory procedures.
• Maintain laboratory inventory, cleanliness, and organization.
• Review technical resources and attend training sessions to stay current in the field.
  
  

What You Bring

• Knowledge of chemistry, microbiology, and analytical testing methods.
• Understanding of laboratory safety and quality control practices.
• Ability to operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and record-keeping abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory software.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate a truck with a boat trailer (if applicable).
  
  

Education & Experience

• Equivalent to an associate degree in chemistry, microbiology, or a closely related physical science.
• No prior experience required; training will be provided.
