NMR is seeking candidates for an Energy Research Analyst position. We’re an employee-owned consulting firm specializing in the research and evaluation of energy-efficiency and clean-energy programs.
We’re looking for colleagues who think critically and creatively, take initiative, and are not afraid to ask questions. The anticipated salary for this position is in the $70,000s to $80,000s, depending on qualifications and experience. We also offer a strong array of benefits, including: Employee Stock Ownership Plan; health, dental, and disability insurance; 401K; three weeks of paid vacation in the first year of employment (up to six weeks after multiple years of employment); paid parental leave; and reimbursement for continuing education, home internet, and fitness expenses. We prefer candidates located in the Boston area but will consider candidates located elsewhere who can work remotely.
Candidates must have a
Bachelor’s degree
Plus Five Years’ Experience
or a
Master’s Degree Plus Three Years’ Experience
We prefer candidates with degrees in engineering, environmental science, environmental policy, economics, sociology, math, statistics, or other social science.

- Performing descriptive quantitative analyses using R and other data analysis packages
- Performing analyses to estimate energy savings
- Writing clear and concise research summaries, memoranda, and reports
- Designing and implementing surveys, and analyzing survey and other data
- Designing, conducting, and reporting on semi-structured interviews
- Managing tasks and staff assigned to those tasks
