Job Summary
Location: Stockton and Woodland, CA
This position supports two solid fuels power plant sites, one in Stockton, CA and one in Woodland, CA. The role splits their time between the two sites.
This position will support the implementation and oversight of safety programs and policies, as well as maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local health and safety regulations. Expertise in training, auditing, and hazard identification and control are required. The position reports to the Assistant Plant Manager, with functional reporting to the corporate Safety department.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works both in a business office setting and at a project site. While working at the project site, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, including cold/hot, wet and/or humid conditions, and may work near moving mechanical parts and/or machinery. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration (see physical requirements above). The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate in the office, but may become loud at the project site.

Key Accountabilities
- Develop, administer, and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Create and deliver safety-related reports and presentations
- Develop and present safety training and educational programs
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with regulations and adherence to company expectations
- Provide leadership and direction in implementation of proactive safety activities
- Interface with regulatory agencies and outside vendors as necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Monitor regulatory process to identify future applicable regulations and their impact on operations
- Perform all other related duties as assigned
- A Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety (or a related field) and three years practical experience in the field of safety; or a n Associate's degree in occupational safety (or a related field) and five years practical experience in the field of safety; or a high school diploma or equivalent and seven years practical experience in the field of safety.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of applicable California and Federal OSHA regulations
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with both a business and functional leader, who collaborate on issues and decisions
