Responsibilities

Hexagon Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division (Hexagon) is seeking a qualified Software Test Engineer to join our team. The Software Test Engineer will be a part of the Salesforce Back Office team supporting a global implementation of Salesforce. This team is primarily focused on the development of Salesforce solutions built on Conga CPQ and a custom License Tracking and Management (LTM) app. LTM integrates with the Licensing Portal, a custom .Net solution where customers can manage their licenses. The Test Engineer will perform manual tests on all new functionality across these platforms. The Test Engineer will also coordinate user acceptance testing and production software releases. In addition, the Test Engineer will coordinate the development of automated tests by an offshore team. The automated tests use off-the-shelf test automation tools specifically built for Salesforce. The Test Engineer will act as part of an Agile team that consists of a product owner, architects, developers and software test engineers. The Test Engineer will be involved in troubleshooting user support issues and assisting with reproducing issues in testing environments. This is a highly collaborative role interfacing with multiple individuals and teams including business users.

  • Define and execute manual test plans for user stories
  • Assist the product owner in the definition of acceptance criteria
  • Perform exploratory testing prior to release
  • Oversee and coordinate development of automated tests with an offshore team
  • Develop and communicate User Acceptance Test plans to internal users
  • Coordinate releases with the development team and stakeholders
  • Participate in the team’s on-call rotation for month-end after-hours support
  • Mentor junior test engineers and other teams in QA best practices

Education / Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or other relevant field is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in software testing
  • Strong knowledge of various software testing principles and practices
  • Experience developing a test plan based on new software or user workflows
  • Proven track record of delivering quality work with attention to detail
  • Strong communication and documentation skills as well as a collaborative mindset
  • High aptitude and critical thinking skills, including problem-solving and root cause analysis
  • Ability to work with users to help troubleshoot support issues

Preferred

  • Experience with test automation, BDD and Gherkin syntax
  • Agile and Scrum experience
  • Familiarity or experience with Salesforce
