About The Role

Statistical Research Inc., (SRI), a cultural resources management (CRM) firm is seeking a motivated and experience Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist to join our accounting team. The AP Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and payments. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the smooth functioning of our account’s payable operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and process all transactions for the company including invoices, check requests, credit card receipts, food allowance, and insurance statements.
• Monitor and respond to all emails for the company’s A/P email account.
• Develop and maintain working knowledge of all accounting policies and procedures.
• Maintain and reconcile account schedules.
• Assist the accounting team in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports.
• Obtain approvals according to the company’s purchasing policy.
• Ensure subcontractor invoices are received and paid within the parameters of the contract.
• Properly date, code, log, and post financial transactions
• Process due invoices for payment in a timely and accurate manner.
• Copy invoices and receipts as needed for the A/R department and file all posted transactions.
• Monitor and manage credit card transactions and available balances daily.
• Collect W-9s for all vendors.
• Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings, and statements.
• Track and post mileage for all company vehicles weekly.
• Assist the payroll department as needed.
• Function as backup for reception when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years’ experience in accounting or similar roles.
• Excellent computer skills including proficient use of MS Office.
• Competence in financial and bookkeeping software.
• Data entry skills and aptitude for numbers.
• Detail-oriented with great prioritization and organizational skills.
• Reliable with the ability to work well under pressure.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
• High school degree required, Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field a plus.
