The Director of The Residence is a psychiatric-experienced licensed RN or LCSW with management experience. Responsible for leadership and management of all staff, services, programs and facilities within The Residence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Director of The Residence

  • Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, supervision and discipline of Core Competence Staff, management of a staffing plan that meets the clinical and administrative needs of The Residence.
  • Provides for and plans the training and development of Core Competence Staff.
  • Provides leadership presence, consultation and modelling for Core Competence Staff.
  • Provide shift leadership and quality control by identifying and assigning duties and providing in-the-moment training/correction as needed.
  • Manages information needed to provide appropriate support for Core Competence Staff payroll and all billing logs.
  • Participates in the development of policies and procedures for The Residence Health Services.
  • Performs medical triage assessments throughout services and programs.
  • Performs psychiatric assessments for risk and medication management purposes in consultation with Staff Psychiatrists.
  • Ensure that all necessary Policy and Procedure forms and logs are organized and readily available at all times.
  • Organize and oversee CCS process to ensure cross-shift communication, cohesion, and follow-through.
  • Participation in strategic planning.
  • Participation in Facility Rounds with CEO & Director of Business Services.
  • Participates in Accreditation, Quality Assurance and Risk Management functions.
  • Responsible for the management of The Residence security system.
  • Participation in the development, and responsibility for the implementation and management of the marketing plan.
  • Conducts facility tours for professional contacts and potential patients and families.
  • Provide consultative and educational services for staff and in the community.
  • Responsible for the ongoing maintenance of The Residence inventory of supplies, purchases, repairs, etc. and facility rounds.
  • Coordinate with Administration the need for repair and upkeep of The Residence, including furniture, mechanicals, and building sunrooms and bedrooms.
  • Responsible for the coordination, with community resources, for the care of all patient medical needs.
  • Responsible for administration of laboratory services, including toxicology.
  • Responsible for medication supervision services and monitoring their implementation within The Residence.
  • Provide a central communication resource to Medical Staff for medication related issues.
  • Check Residence medication logs against the MAR to identify any discrepancies and ensure that CCS are following established Medication Procedures
  • Oversee the daily facility checklist and follow-through on execution and side-by-sides with Residents
  • Coordinates for resident sick call.
  • Participate in YBCC along with the Co-Chair of the Community.
  • Provide direct services consistent with the Core Competence Staff role.
  • Participates in treatment planning.
  • Participation in and coordination of the monthly Parents as Partners Brunch.
  • Responsible for the management of the physical environment and community culture in keeping with the YB model at The Residence.
  • Participation in the development and implementation of research and outcome study programs.
  • Available for crisis as necessary.
  • Supports consultation to residents and staff from other Professional Staff such as OTR/L, CADC, Creative Arts Coordinator, and Registered Dietitian.
  • Coordinate needed support for Professional Staff advocates.
  • Participation in the development of the mission, clinical philosophy and culture and responsibility for development and management of treatment services which implement the mission.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, this position requires an RN professional degree and license or equivalent clinical experience. Clinical administrative or other executive experience is preferred.

Certificates and Licenses:

Licensure in Illinois as a RN if applicable.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

All Core Competence Staff of The Residence unless otherwise determined by the Medical Director.
