Title: Vision Engineer
Duties: Bastian Solutions LLC seeks a Vision Engineer based out of headquarters in Carmel, Indiana to perform robotics engineering under limited supervision. Develop computer vision algorithms that support robotics applications. Build datasets for vision related tasks including pose estimation and object detection. Analyze simulation layouts to perform reach studies, cycle time estimates, and offline programming to aid product development. Apply machine learning to computer vision problems. Develop and maintain program code and library standards. Create and modify operator manuals, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Commission and document settings for system devices, including IP addresses, firmware versions, code revisions, and branches. Construct and train neural networks. Develop computer vision software in Python, including algorithm design and systems software development. Utilize an understanding of applied mathematics, numerical optimization, signal processing, and object/pattern recognition to develop computer vision software. Integrate SDKs including TensorFLow and PyTorch. Maintain pre-production, production, and development code using a distributed version control system such as Git. May travel up to 10% of time to various and unanticipated worksites throughout the United States. When not traveling, work from home up to 1 day/week is permitted. Annual Salary: $111,758 to $134,309.
Requirements: Master’s degree in Robotics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field plus one year of robotics engineering experience. Must have at least one year of experience in each of the following: 1. Building datasets for vision related tasks including pose estimation and object detection; 2. Applying machine learning to computer vision problems; 3. Constructing and
training neural networks; 4. Developing computer vision software in Python, including algorithm design and systems software development; 5. Utilizing an understanding of applied mathematics, numerical optimization, signal processing, and object/pattern recognition to develop computer vision software; and 6. Integrating SDKs including TensorFLow and PyTorch.
