Job Overview:

As the first Business Development Leader at our AI healthcare startup, you will play a high-impact role in shaping the future of healthcare. You’ll drive the company’s strategic growth and market presence by identifying new opportunities, forging transformative partnerships, and expanding our reach across healthcare systems. Your work will directly influence the adoption of our AI solutions, improving patient care and operational efficiency. By leading business development and fundraising initiatives, you’ll position the company as a key player in revolutionizing healthcare through AI. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure strategic goals are aligned and translate business needs into actionable initiatives that drive the scaling of our AI solutions in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to identify and capture new market opportunities.
  • Partnership Development: Forge and nurture strategic partnerships with healthcare providers, technology firms, and industry influencers.
  • Business Operations: Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to inform product development and marketing strategies.
  • Revenue Growth: Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, creating sales pipelines, and managing high-stakes negotiations.
  • Strategic Finance: Lead efforts in fundraising, pitch deck creation, modeling, raising capital
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, marketing, and operations teams to ensure alignment on strategic goals and seamless execution of initiatives to translate business needs from health care systems
  • Networking: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to build brand awareness and establish a strong industry presence.
  • Relationship Management: Travel to meet and work with partners
  • Reporting: Track and report on key performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 10+ years in business development or sales leadership roles in healthcare, health tech or related industries, with experience drafting and executing commercial deals with health systems and payers (bonus from startup side), building partner engineering roles
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in driving business growth, forging strategic partnerships, and achieving revenue targets.
  • Industry Knowledge and Relationships: In-depth understanding of the healthcare landscape, regulatory considerations, and emerging trends in health technology; Knowledge and experience with deploying AI technologies or cutting edge technologies with health systems
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Strategic Thinker: Strong analytical and strategic planning skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Relationship Builder and Manager: Rolodex and relationships with top health system executives and payers; Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build lasting relationships and navigate complex negotiations.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Management, or at least 10+ years of relevant experience.
